Not Another Bill: Curated monthly surprises

I stumbled across Not Another Bill when I was sending some files via WeTransfer (a great website which lets you send lots of big files for free) The background of Wetransfer changes all the time but this particular one caught my eye..

Who can resist nice font and layout?! I clicked through and found myself on Not Another Bill's website (a lovely thing in itself!) wanting to find out more. Not Another Bill's aim is to "surprise and delight you" they do this by sending you a monthly treat in exchange for a subscription. Each month they'll send you a lovely little parcel from a range of up and coming designers and brands. You can cater your preferences (menswear, womenswear, accessories, homeware, gadgets and art) Some of the previous presents have included a "build it yourself" 35mm lomography camera, screen prints, Falcon enamel homeware, Tatty devine jewellery and scissors. There really is something for everyones tastes. It's such a simple idea but the results looked fantastic so I signed up straight away and waited for my present to arrive!
.

The parcels are posted at the beginning of each month and along with the gift, you receive a personalised letter with a little bit of info about your gift (although it didn't say anything about it being my first not another bill, it would have been nice if that had been recognised) My first non-bill was from New York based company Baggu their ethos is to make high quality, simple bags in lots of colours! The bags are designed to be as eco friendly as possible with ethical manufacturing techniques at the core of the business. I have to say I was impressed with the construction of the bag, I really love the long strap, great for slinging over your shoulder. I also like the extra security of an inside pocket and popper fastening. There are a lot of tote/canvas bags on the market now but this is one of the better quality ones I've seen.

My bag came in lovely N.A.B embossed brown paper.

I would recommend Not another bill to anyone who wants to discover new brands. The company has a great ethos and has already received a lot of national press. I hope that as it grows it still holds on to it's original message of delighting people with monthly gifts.

  1. Pretty nifty idea and I love how you discovered it. So how much does it cost per go?

    1. It's £18 per go (rolling contract I think) quite pricey...see how I get on & if the products are worth it. You can buy it as a present for someone which is a nice idea.
